Yes, believe it or not, Team Solo Mid (TSM) of the NALCS (North America League of Legends Championship Series) was in fact beaten by the now 5-9 team Coast in an upsetting game, causing the number one team in the league, with only one loss I might add (to the number two team in the opening game of the season), to be defeated by a team with quite literally double the amount of losses they had compared to their victories. Halfway through the forty-third minute of the Coast versus TSM game on day one of week six, Coast’s Shiphtur and his Ahri, who had a pretty insane Lich Bane proc, was able to dance around TSM’s nexus, despite being hit with ignite, and not only take the Nexus, securing Coast the win, but also kill TheOddOne, as well as dodge Bjergson’s Gragas as well as Xpecial’s Annie, who had also called out Tibbers, who for once, wasn’t all that annoying to play around. Coast’s ZionSpartan says “The last Lich Bane proc did like a thousand damage to that Nexus and we just won. It was just unbelievable (and uh) we did really good in the early game but (uh) we really didn’t wanna throw it…Guys let’s not throw this game, let’s play it safe, but we played a little too safe and we actually started slowly throwing it.” TSM, who defended their base to the best of their ability in Coast’s final push, and even ended up having two players, WildTurtle and Bjergson, finish with positive KDAs. TSM having only lost to Cloud 9, in the season opening game, and being on an eleven game winning streak, were quite obviously taken aback after they had lost.
